Beverley Terrell-Deutsch was an elementary school teacher for several years. After attaining a doctoral degree in psychology, she returned to the school system as a school psychologist, working with children and their families, and teachers, for over twenty years. She has been writing for most of her life, has had short stories published in educational anthologies and is a two-time Judges'Choice winner of the Toronto Star Newspaper Short Story Contest. Her first children's novel, Running Scared, was short-listed by the Manitoba Young Readers' Choice Awards, and was winner of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) 2015 Children's Literature Award. A second book in "the Gregory series" is slated for publication in 2016.
