Lillian Boraks-Nemetz is a poet and a novelist. She was born in Warsaw, Poland, and survived the Holocaust as a child. She has her M.A. in Comparative literature from the University of British Columbia and now teaches Creative Writing at the UBC Department of Continuing Studies. Boraks-Nemetz' young adult novel, The Old Brown Suitcase won the Sheila A. Egoff award among others. She has completed the second novel of the trilogy, The Sunflower Diary, and is working on the final volume.
