Marissa Stapley is the author of the critically acclaimed Globe and Mail bestselling novel Mating for Life, which was released in 2014 by Atria Books and Simon & Schuster Canada and reprinted in June 2016, and Things to Do When It's Raining, out in February 2018 with Graydon House (US) and Simon & Schuster (Canada), and Fall 2018 in Germany with Rowohlt (Wunderlich). She is a National Magazine Award nominated journalist who writes the Shelf Love commercial fiction review column for the Globe and Mail and reports on books for the Toronto Star. She is also a former magazine editor who has taught creative writing and editing at the University of Toronto and Centennial College. She lives in Toronto with her husband, two children, and a hockey-playing cat.
