Sheilah Currie has had a varied career—first as an actor, then a school teacher, and now a children’s book author and early literacy advocate. She figures it won’t matter whether books are digitized or pulp’n’paperized if people can’t read. With her friend and writing partner, Jill Bever, she has co-written over sixty storybooks that are used in elementary school classrooms. Sheilah is doing her bit to bolster the publishing industry by creating new customers—the kids that she helps to become successful, independent readers.
