Born and educated in England with a background in Journalism, English Literature and History. Moved to Canada in 1968, married, raised two children and became an active freelance writer, columnist and author of fourteen books. In recent years, Valerie has expanded her writing interests to cover crime and criminals in the Pacific North West, Colorado, Chicago and Detroit, having now completed four more books in Altitude Publishers' Amazing Stories series.In 2008 Valerie published a book concerning an important social issue today - seniors 'aging in place' - and the role of the caregiver, and has recently completed an historical family saga novel plus a book on unsolved mysteries in British Columbia's history.
