Jacqueline Nugent was born in 1946 and spent her youth in Oakville, Ontario. She moved to Quebec in 1970 where she became enamoured with the French culture. In 1984, she published, Beyond the Door, a fantasy-adventure for 10-12 year olds. Her second novel, The Glass Treehouse, is adult fiction and centers around an American woman who arrives in Quebec with her draft-dodger boyfriend in the seventies. Nugent is now in the process of completing her third novel.
